CP Couple Claire + Joe
Claire and Joe were wed on the 9th of July 2016 at Best Western Plus Perth Parkside Inn & Spa in Perth, Ontario. Champagne Press had the pleasure of making their wedding stationery and we were very excited when we received these lovely images from Claire by Tracey Jazmin Photography AND Claire agreed to dish about her propsal, planning, and big day!
----------- from Claire ------------
Who’s your beau? How did you meet?
Our love story began on a fall evening in September of 2014. At that moment, I knew Joe was the one. We connected immediately, laughed, spoke honestly, and shared our deepest secrets. We have been inseparable ever since.
The past couple of years have been a whirlwind. Joe asked me to marry him on October 1st, 2015, the day we took possession of our beautiful new home. As I unlocked the front door, rose pedals lined a path to the kitchen where I found any lady’s two favourite things... champagne and chocolate! And a dozen roses, each accompanied by a sweet note, representing twelve reasons he couldn’t wait to the spend the rest of his life with me. It was so heartfelt and romantic. I couldn’t wait to say yes!
What were your first steps in the planning process? How did you choose the wedding professionals that would help you on your day? Did you hire a planner?
As a bit of a perfectionist (we won’t say control freak!), I knew that I wanted to plan the wedding myself, rather than hire a professional planner. Although, I must admit, there were times throughout the process that I considered it! Luckily, I have an incredible mum who was nothing short of a star, and some amazing wedding professionals who made the wedding of my dreams become a reality.
I spent a lot of time choosing my wedding professionals. I had a pretty clear vision of what I wanted my wedding to look, and, more importantly, feel like. I wanted it to be intimate and relaxed, yet glitzy and glamorous! I chose wedding professionals that I knew I could reply on to create this vision...one that shared my sense of style, and I hit the jackpot!
What was your experience like working with Champagne Press?
Julie was a dream to work with! Designing my invitations with Champagne Press was one of the most fun and pleasant experiences I had while planning my wedding. From our save the dates and invitation suite to the wedding day paper goods and custom stationery, every detail was meticulously designed and printed. I knew that our invitation suite would offer our guests a first glimpse into our wedding, so it was important to me that the style and theme that I had envisioned shone through. Julie and her team achieved this and so much more. I can’t thank her enough.
What did you wear?
I knew, from the moment I slipped on Truvelle’s Natalie, that it was the dress for me! I completed the look with a French lace bolero designed by Maureen Patricia Bridal, a beautiful silk sash with just a touch of sparkle, and some fun Kate Spade flats!
Favorite parts of your wedding day? Would you do anything differently?
Where do I even start? Everything about our big day was absolutely perfect. Even the little imperfections were perfect because they made the day ours. The first dance was pretty special because it was the first moment that Joe and I looked into each other’s eyes as husband and wife and the rest of the world just went quiet. Joe chose the song, Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud, and every time we hear it now, that feeling returns.
What advice would you give newly engaged couples?
Enjoy the experience. I know it sounds cliché, but the day comes and goes faster than you can ever imagine.
